Release of the Comic Book: Pandemic: Memories of Jardim Colombo Women
In April 2025, the Brazilian team held the launch event for the comic book Pandemic: Memories of Jardim Colombo Women, the result of a collaborative effort between the women of the community and the SMAPL Brazil team.
The comic book brings together 10 stories from women living in the Jardim Colombo favela, sharing their experiences and survival during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The project began with audiovisual interviews conducted with the women, which were then adapted into comic-book style stories. Now, all these stories have been compiled into a single book.
The event took place at the Projeto Viver space, located within the community. Projeto Viver was one of the partners in conducting the audiovisual workshops with the women served by the space. The event was also covered by the public broadcaster TV Brasil.
